IT TAKES A VILLAGE

IT TAKES A VILLAGE

With school being just around the corner, you know what that means, it’s time for It Takes a Village 2024!

Join The Future is US, our partners, and The Phyllis Ann Foundation for our 4th annual It Takes a Village back to school event hosted by Noche Berry’s Salon! Sunday, August 18th we will be back providing free haircuts and styling services and backpacks with school supplies at Noche Berry’s Salon and Club 68.

This year we are doing things differently for our free hair services. Instead of first come, first served, it will be by appointment only from 9a-3pm while school supplies will be available next door at Club 68 from 11a-3p. Busy Bee Taxi too again will be providing free transportation to and from for Galveston, TX city limit residents.

And like always, there will be free fun and food throughout the day for all!

We can’t wait to help you prepare for a successful school year, Sunday August 18th!

Get Involved!

Join us for It Takes A Village! We need donations of new/unused pre-stretched hypoallergenic hair, school supplies, hairstylist, barbers, and volunteers to help make the event a success.

DONATIONS are key!

What’s great about It Takes a Village is that anyone can get involved by volunteering or donating!

You can become apart of It Takes a Village by donating school or hair supplies at various Galveston businesses and with at our friends, Galveston’s Own Farmers Market Sunday market leading up to our big back to school event!

For the last 4 years, Noche Berry’s Salon and hairstylists and barbers from Galveston and Harris counties have volunteered their time and skills to provide free haircuts and styles to our students the day before school.

Because of them, almost 300 students have had their hair done, for free, to fill them with confidence as they head into their new school year.

If you are a hairstylist or barber or have any hair braiding or washing skills, we need YOU to make sure in year 4 we can continue empowering our students!
